Mammoth Lakes is book-ended by two great towns, June Lake and Crowley Lake. Both areas are approximately 16 miles from Mammoth, except in opposite directions and are uniquely beautiful.
Crowley Lake is to the south of Mammoth on Hwy 395. It is primarily a bedroom community and many folks affectionately refer to it as the “banana belt” because their winter snow fall is substantially less. It is also a fishing meca with the numerous streams that feed into Crowley Lake and the lake itself. Currently, there are 30+ active listings in the area with the low being a lot for $45,000 and the high list price a luxury home in Aspen Springs for $1.5 million.
June Lake is really the home of four lakes (June, Gull, Silver and Grant) plus June Mountain Ski Area. June Lake is on Hwy 158 which is North of Mammoth Lakes on Hwy 395. There is a reason they call the entrance to Town “Oh! Ridge”. The beauty is breathtaking. There are currently 40+ active listing ranging in price from $65,000 for a lot to $16.4 million for a luxury estate home.
